Kadi Kapasidade

Our main objective is to sharpen the capacity of church leadership in Timor-Leste to help them do their life-changing work. We offer a range of engaging learning opportunities through our training centre. We are based in Comoro, Dili, Timor-Leste.

Kadi Kapasidade was formally registered in 2016. However, it is based on informal development activities that began in 2004. Kadi Kapasidade is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee. All proceeds are used to support the development of the people of Timor-Leste.

Our Philosophy

Kadi Kapasidade is a locally based organisation operated by Timorese staff. It is not a church but it does work to support the churches of Timor-Leste and, in turn, the people of Timor-Leste. So, while we think and talk about God, we also do something about helping people with basic needs such as clean drinking water, food security and health.

What's happening in 2016?

Training Centre

Our training centre is up and running. We are offering a number of training events for Church leadership, music, sewing and agriculture. Other organisations are also welcome to use our training room.

Bele Kria Sewing centre

Bele Kria has moved into Kadi Kapasidade. This is a local women's sewing group operating as a social enterprise. Their focus is on women's hygiene products such as washable sanitary pads. They provide training in sewing skills to small groups of women.

Entrega Ba

Entrega Ba is an employment agency set up as a not-for-profit initiative to connect employers with employees. They also provide training for the employees. This is an excellent service that runs very efficiently. Entrega Ba has been operating for a number of years but recently relocated to the Kadi Kapasidade training centre short term while they establish a new location. Entrega Ba website

Recording Studio

Kadi has a small 3m x 4m recording studio for recording music and educational tracks. We also print CDs and sell them through our shop. In 2016, we released the CD 'Fitun Nee' (This Star) which was made by recording a number of Timorese artists from local churches. Kadi Music

Kadi Shop

Kadi is involved in a number of projects that distribute scriptures, water filters, agriculture supplies, sewing products and other household products. We also have a shop that makes these products available at affordable prices to the public. We focus on products that we believe are worth supporting and that cannot be readily found in other shops around Timor-Leste. All proceeds from the shop go back into supporting the work of Kadi to help the people of Timor-Leste.

Chicken Pen Program

This year we have launched our Chicken Pen Program. This involves supporting households with materials to build a chicken pen. We are educating them about keeping chickens (better than the usual 'let them go and see if they survive' type of approach). We also liaise with the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries to arrange vaccination from Newcastle's Disease. Kadi Chicken Pen Project

That's just some of the things that Kadi is involved in.

Where are we?

Rua De Beto Leste, Beto, Comoro, Dili, Timor-Leste

From the airport round-about, going towards Dili, when you come to the big Comoro Bridge, turn off to the left just before going over the bridge. After 50m turn left onto Rua De Beto Leste (there is a street sign!). Continue straight down this road, onto a dirt road. After about 200m of dirt you should see the sign on the left "Kadi Kapasidade". Turn in there.

What about our religious background?

Kadi Kapasidade is not a church. We are not pushing a religion. Our directors are members of 3 churches: Asembleia (Eng: Assemblies of God), Igreja Nazareno De Timor-Leste (Eng: Nazarene Church), Bala Keselamatan (Eng: The Salvation Army). We work to equip the various churches to do their work without making distinction on matters of doctrine.
